The Proud Sky Blues are thrilled to unveil our brand-new promotional video.

The video was first premiered at the Proud Sky Blues’ first-ever End of Season Party, which took place on Friday, 17th May, at The Yard, Coventry’s #1 LGBTQ+ venue.

This new video was created to help raise awareness of the supporters group, encourage new members to sign up, and show people what it’s like to be a part of the Proud Sky Blues.

Filmed at a match between Coventry City and Leeds United earlier in the 2023-24 season and also at the Butts Park Arena, the video focuses on members’ personal experiences of being in the group. Members speak about how welcome they are made to feel on match days and how their mental well-being has improved since joining the group.

In the video, Si Hill (Proud Sky Blues member) says:

“It’s given me a feeling of belonging that I wasn’t expecting. I felt accepted from the start. Everyone can bring something to the group and everyone can get something from the group. It’s such a friendly and social atmosphere.”

The video was commissioned following the Proud Sky Blues’ successful grant application from the Football Supporters Association’s (FSA) Fans for Diversity Fund. The FSA received a bump in funds in part thanks to the EFL’s Rainbow Ball campaign, with the funds going directly towards supporting various diversity projects and initiatives.

With the funding, the Proud Sky Blues hired Charlie Budd at Chin Badger Media, who directed, filmed and edited the video.

Lewis Wale, Proud Sky Blues Founder, said:

“We’re so pleased to have had the opportunity to create this incredible video. It perfectly captures what it’s like to be a member of the Proud Sky Blues, and I’m thrilled that it’s received such a positive response from the wider Coventry City fanbase and the club itself.”

Following the video’s premiere, the Proud Sky Blues announced the winners of the group’s End of Season Awards.

  • Vocal Hero Award: Matt Loveitt
  • Unlicensed Coach Award: Craig Watson
  • Group Historian Award: Adrian Wilson
  • Eager Beaver Award: Rich Tomlinson

Following the awards, the members surprised the group’s founder, Lewis Wale, with a special gift to thank him for his efforts in setting up the Proud Sky Blues.
